Step onto an Offbeat Creative set and you can feel the difference. The spaces don’t just look good, they feel lived in, intentional, and authentic. That sense of atmosphere is no mistake. It’s the work of Celina Arslanian, who brings worlds to life as an art director, production designer, and propmaster at Offbeat Creative.
Celina’s job is all about translating ideas into physical environments. Working closely with directors and the creative team, they take abstract concepts and turn them into visual details you can actually touch and see.

“My role is about channeling the creative vision with the director and translating it into objects, textures, and colors that really resonate with the brand.”
From the first mood board to the last prop placed on set, Celina helps shape the artistic identity of each project.
1. Creating New Worlds
Much of the art department’s work begins long before production. Celina collaborates through visual references, building art direction decks filled with textures, color palettes, furniture styles, and props that help define the world of the story. This process ensures everyone, from the client to the crew, shares the same vision.
It’s not just about making things look nice. Every object in the frame supports the tone of the story, whether that means creating a polished corporate setting or a more cinematic, character-driven environment.

2. The Joy of Art Direction
What excites Celina most is the challenge of creating spaces she may know nothing about at first. Research becomes an immense part of the job, helping ensure that each space feels authentic and believable. One project that really stands out is the Buffalo Trace campaign, which required building a fully realized world from the ground up!

“That one was definitely the most creative because we had to think about everything on so many layers, the desk, the curtains, the little objects on the table, even the ice in a glass.”
It’s this attention to detail that gives Offbeat Creative’s productions depth and texture, even in brief commercial moments.
3. Supportive Sets
Production sets can be hectic, but Celina says the culture at Offbeat Creative makes a real difference. The team prioritizes communication and collaboration, ensuring the art department has the resources and support needed to execute their vision smoothly.
That level of trust allows creativity to thrive and helps the entire crew stay focused on storytelling rather than logistics.
4. Career Tips
For anyone interested in art direction or set work, Celina recommends starting as a Production Assistant, especially on an indie film where you can gain hands-on experience quickly. Being open to learning, observing how different departments work, and staying ready to jump into any task can open doors faster than people expect.
“Start as a PA, especially on an indie film. You’ll face creative challenges and see how different departments solve problems. That hands-on experience is everything.”
From early research to the smallest prop on a table, Celina plays a key role in making Offbeat Creative’s projects feel immersive and real. It’s a reminder that great production design doesn’t just fill a space, it builds a world the audience can believe in.
