As the industry pushes passed traditional borders, New Jersey continues to shine as a serious contender in the world of production. Whether you're an experienced filmmaker or an aspiring creator in the hunt for opportunities, the Garden State might just be the next big thing in entertainment!

1. The Garden SLATE
New Jersey is gaining traction as a production powerhouse, thanks to generous tax credits, eclectic shooting locations, and the close proximity to New York. For several studios, it offers the cinematic range of California, without the West Coast cost.
2. Blockbuster Hits
Big-budget films and shows like Joker, West Side Story, and A Complete Unknown have all chosen NJ as the location for their shoot. Meanwhile, the upcoming Lionsgate Newark studio and Monmouth County Netflix Studio signal a significant increase in high-profile projects.

3. Jersey Film History
New Jersey’s film roots run deep! It is truly considered the birthplace of the motion picture industry. Thomas Edison built the first movie studio in West Orange and The Great Train Robbery (1903), shot in Essex County, is one of the first and most influential narrative films in U.S. cinema history. The thriving business today is less of a trend and more a homecoming due to modern infrastructure and investment.
